Reming

Typhoon during the Christmas season? Now that’s something I haven’t heard for a while.

Anyway, I tuned in to ANC and found out the classes for tomorrow have been suspended in Manila due to super typhoon Reming which packs winds of up to 190/kph. I’ve been in Wellington for 32 months already and by now have gotten used to wind gusts up to 120/kph on an ordinary day. But 190/kph is something else.

Giant billboards are now being dismantled and government agencies are now preparing for the worst. They don’t want another Milenyo to happen.

Here’s praying that this super typhoon will not have devastating effects. It’s almost Christmas, all we want is to have a worry-free holiday season.

Ingat kayo diyan! Stay home if you must. Alam ko tempting manood ng sine pag walang pasok but it’s better to stay at home. I’ll be watching the news.

Saturday Morning Blues

S%#t!

Magising ka ba naman ng 550am! Eh di super bad-trip nga talaga. To think na past 11 na ako nakatulog. Tinapos ko pa kasi ung World’s Fastest Indian. At least di ako nainip sa panonood.

Anyway, I tried to go back to sleep but with no success, so bumangon na lang ako. At nanood ng "Maging Sino Ka Man", my morning habit.

Today is supposed to be a nice day sabi sa forecast. Buti na lang. I don’t want to keep myself holed up in the four corners of my flat. There’s a good book lying on the couch waiting for my attention. I just need a peaceful place where I can read to my heart’s delight.

Bring on the weekend. I’m ready.

But then it would have been better if I had another couple of hours more sleep.

Another Week

Thursday, November 23rd, 2006

It’s been awhile.

Well, there isn’t much to say really. Except that I had my exam last week (and had a two-day off to prepare for it, duh!) which means I should be stress-free by now. But there’s the other paper I am taking for the summer term which has thte potential of annoying me close to the Christmas break.

Nothing exciting, except going out with friends last Wednesday. We went to Cobar in Eastbourne for dinner. As always, we had fun. It’s funny how we’ve managed to still go out even if 3 of us have left the organisation where we all met and one is about to leave next month. What’s more amazing is the fact that the person who took over my role is with the group now. So we expect to still be invited in the team’s parties in the future.

I was also told late today that our IT boss will buy me two hot chocolates (he initially said latte, but I told him i prefer hot choc). Something to look forward to for next week.

I got a couple of books last Sunday, Dan Carter’s biography  (sort of) and Mitch Albom’s new book, For One More Day. I hope to get into reading mode (where no one can stop me) soon.

I hope the weather will be nice this weekend so I don’t have to stay at home all the time. I need some fresh air and play time.

Before I go, i thought I’ll share this with you. While having lunch with my colleagues today (with a bottle of wine in front of us!), my boss and someone else started talking about AQ which is supposed to be in the same category as IQ (ok ako with this), EQ (kulang dito) and SQ (i have this, i promise). So kami naman tanong what it is and none of them would say. So when i got back to the office (after scallops, choc mousse and ice cream and 2glasses of wine), I googled it. Well, meron Autism Quotient (based sa test di ako autistic pero 5 points na lang at sabit na) and Abundance Quotient (which I didn’t bother to read). But when we told the boss about it, she said she just invented it and the other just agreed to see how gullible we could be. Well at least, nadiscover kong malapit na akong maging autistic (hahaha).

Sabi ko naman sa inyo eh, wala talagang exciting na kwento. Kaya walang kwenta ang post na ito! Pasensya na, wala akong magawa. Kailangan kong magsulat.

Nice weekend everyone!

Streaming Weekend

I love cable internet!

I had it installed yesterday and I have so far watched over 1G worth of videos from ABS-CBN Now. While I have done that in the past, yesterday’s experience was different. Pinch me, I might be dreaming.

Anyway, it is 6weeks before I take a much needed break from work and the Wellington weather which has not been very stable (what’s new). Looking forward.

I have been logging long hours at work for the past three weeks, starting at 8am and finishing at just around 6pm. I find myself very tired at night that I am not even able to watch any TV after 9pm. Work’s been hectic with projects left and right. While I look forward to doing account management work (for a Centre at that), I also dread not being able to finish much.

The coming weeks will be very busy as well, not just at work but on the social front too. I have dinners to go to left and right almost every week with a couple of weekends already booked. But I intend to keep the weekend before I fly to out free because I have a mission to accomplish which I have been doing work on for quite a while now (with not much success).

Off to Church now!
